Hong Kong & Macau: once upon a time in November...

Part 1 :    HONG KONG - A PLEASANT SURPRISE!

... `cause I had never had any illusions about it! I had been so wrong!

Impressions:
Western feel
Everyone seems to speak English & Chinese seems to be almost artificial
Traditional vs. Modern
Incredible culture & cuisine mix from all over the world
Full of hiking, biking, kayaking options
Disneyland!!!
..and then there were those Mrs. Fields Brownies in subway stations...yummy ;)

My favourite "sight" of HK - cool double decker trams...coming in all colours with all sorts of advertisement..and riding it - pure pleasure!

Busy (businessy) streets of HK Central

Coolest buildings of HK...looking like chocolate bars wrapped in folio ;)

The view from Victoria peak

Tourist fashion ;)

Aberdeen...cruising the boat shelter

The famous HK light show

Night market in Kowloon

Kayaking trip around the islands off Sai Kung...

It was a first for me! Kayaking in the sea... swimming in clear water....no one else around... something I had definitely not expected from HK in November!!!

Fish market of Sai Kung

Cold feet :)

DISNEY DAY

Let me start by proudly announcing that we enjoyed all of what Disney had to offer:
* all of ~25 attractions
* all of the 3 shows
* parade & fireworks!

I guess we were lucky to be there on a weekday `cause there was almost no waiting in lines (max 10 minutes), so it was a magical day!

HK Disneyland has its own "1 stop" metro line :)...a fast ride into a fairy-tale!

Christmas setting was already "full on" in November. It was + 22 ;)

Disney musical show...i got my 30 minutes of musical experience :)

Winnie-the-Pooh`s adventures

Yes, as I mentioned...we did it all :)

Disney parade :)

Lion King show/musical :)....the circle of life....

Madhatter`s spinning cups

Space Mountain - one of my favourites...did once...had to do it again before leaving ;)

...and before closing at night  - musical fireworks show!!!
Beautiful day in a fairy-tale! :)

Part 2: MACAU -  quite nice, but not as nice as I had expected

Impressions:
Portuguese feel
Nice Old town
It`s all about Casinos, Gambling & Gamblers
1st ever couch-surfing experience!

Portuguese feel & old town

It`s all about Casinos, Gambling & Gamblers!
No matter how/where you arrive to Macau (boat, plane or cross border on foot from China) there are fleets of Casino buses waiting to take you directly to different gambling paradises absolutely free of charge (not that it`s too far)

....don`t worry, you`ll have plenty of opportunities to spend your cash once you get to casino!!!

This one by the border with China

Venetian - THE CASINO

Venice inside out...
