Vietnam: here comes the Tiger...(year) :)

So...let`s start a photo trip in Vietnam...

But before Vietnam...we had a very interesting transfer in China...city of Wuhan...8 hours in the middle of nowhere and the transfer via Wuhan International terminal had a slight Steven King feel...total of 4 ppl in the terminal that was a separate building 5 minute walk away from the main terminal...terminal was opened only for us...and wondering around the tiny empty area waiting for the plain felt like being in some ghost airport..

We were "chasing the Tiger" on the way to Vietnam and arrived to SAIGON just 1,5 hours before the arrival of Tiger (year) ;)
Tropical night (& heat).. …visa formalities (and bunch of tired and confused foreigners trying to get their visas based on online applications)…

..and we made it out from the airport at 23:45…and the TIGER YEAR (or TET for Vietnamese) started in a taxi :) …felt magical.. like in a beginning of a good movie…watching magic of New Year from an open window of taxi…people walking streets in pajamas with candles, burning candles in front of their houses, distant fireworks,
yellow flowers and flower trees planted inside every lobby of the house…

…and after - never ending streams of motorbikes…

Everyone was saying "Happy New Year" :) & all kinds of tigers were all around!

Went for a walk in search of party and wondered into traveling circus group party where we were offered beers and food...and in the feeling of New Year I opened my very own beer can (and I hate beer! :))) and even sipped a bit after toasting with happy locals...Magic of New Year`s night! :)) (still hate beer though ;)

In the morning the sound of ABBA`s HAPPY NEW YEAR was ever present :))) & everything was closed for the New Year celebrations, red flags were all around... sooo the idea of renting a proper motorbike for Mekong delta trip didn`t seem to be realistic after some attempts, so we decided to get to Mekong delta some other way and try to get a motorbike there.

Just a couple of pics from Saigon backpacker`s & party area..
