THE BEACH :)
The main attraction of Rizhao is the sea, so here comes the whole post about & around the sea :)
One of my favourite places in Rizhao - small outside restaurants by the sea where you can get fresh seafood and other good stuff :) I`m a regular here!

Bay-watch not watching :)

Chinese are real cautious with the sun. While foreigners tend to enjoy the beach in bikini trying to get tanned... most Chinese try to avoid tan by hiding under umbrellas and leaving their clothes on.

Chinese don`t swim, they float :)

A typical view at the beach :)

Now on this picture you can try to spot a guy in yellow in the sea waving a red flag... trying to get "irresponsible citizens" out of water...or to move to the netted area... :)

Many people come to beach just to watch the sea...

Seems Rizhao seaside area has been long invaded by aliens... these alien ships (depending ont he place) can be WC, showers, changing rooms or ...closed :)

Perfect houses in a perfect place... hard to believe it`s still in China!!!

Queuing to get to the small island hidden in the fog

The ship (wreck ;)

And let`s conclude with BEACH FASHION!
Swim suits are covering as much as possible.. and often it looks like girls are swimming in their dresses... Many people don`t wear swim-suits...they just manage to go swimming in whatever they are wearing! :)

If only Cardin knew ;)

Wild wild Rizhao
Last weekend was dedicated to exploring: some hiking in the wild, some climbing, some flora & fauna observation, some fish & ships!
There are several mountains around Rizhao that you can see clearly on a clear day...so we just took taxi and asked to be dropped off by the mountain which is kinda on the Northern border of the city...and started walking (& sometimes climbing)
Local tombs..

We are aiming for the peaks on the left

Exploring :)

Came from up there

Next day we went discovering South of the city... on the Chinese map of Rizhao there are symbols suggesting there should be shrimp pools by the sea and some ports.
We found many hangars full of fish, crabs and some shells...

Drying corn..beautiful colours!

And finally pools :) ...or reservoirs...or something...didn`t see any shrimps, but then again I suppose the don`t just float on the surface ;)
