If you have plenty of time to explore Chongqing...Ciqikou old town might also be worth a visit.!
It`s main pedestrian street is the usual "Chinese tourist attraction standard" focusing on selling things + it`s very noisy, crowded and not so authentic...
...but wonder away (like I did) from the main street & you might discover much more!

One of the side streets close to the river is cafeteria paradise (each of the cafeterias has its particular style & feel)... perfect for reading a book, writing your post-cards or just having a mango smoothie ;)
To get to Ciqikou Old town from down-town (Jiefangbei area) of Chongqing: direct bus Nr. 261 from Hong Ya Dong (56 Cangbai Lu) to Ciqikou will take ~ 50 minutes (2 RMB).
